Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept guest articles or posts?
There are a lot of great writers out there putting out great content. At this time, we don’t have a place for guest posts or articles. If you have an idea for the podcast, feel free to send it via the form below.
Can Betsy be my therapist?
Unfortunately, no, I can’t be your therapist. It’s so hard to find a good therapist and I believe that the “right fit” is vitally important to getting the most out of therapy. Therapists in the US can only see clients in states where they are licensed. I would suggest checking out the therapists in your area and read their websites and bio statements. Find one that you feel like you dig their style. If you are looking for trauma therapy and are interested in EMDR you can go to emdria.com to look for EMDR therapists in your area. Keep looking until you find the right fit. Therapy can be lifechanging!
Where can I get help for substance use for myself or a loved one?
Addiction help is sometimes hard to find! There are most likely treatment centers near you that will do virtual appointments (which is a great option). If you aren’t sure where to go, find a local community health center, sometimes labeled as an FQHC (Federally Qualified Healthcare Center) and ask for a Care Coordinator. These clinics are there to help you find resources.
Additionally, there are some really great self-help groups which are an excellent place to start. People in those groups range all over the world and have connections to treatment too. Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous goups exist around the world. However, there are other great recovery groups to choose from.
Check out these groups:
